Release day and performance from award-winning Cuban pianist Alejandro Vargas and Galician author and performance artist Xelís de Toro!
Devised in residence at The Rose Hill, this is a radical reinvention of 400 year old galician poems into 19 short pieces of music for piano, percussion and voice. Each piece is improvised around thematic material and the resultant performances incorporate everything from achingly delicate whispers and twinkling piano to thunderous percussion energetic movement.
Each track has a corresponding image created by Galician photographer Manuel Vilariño and the release format is a box-set of postcards, one for each track, with a QR code that takes you to the music online, and a download code for the whole album. We are co-releasing this with Spanish publishing house Axóuxere.
