ABOUT
Splitting the Atom is Lost Property and Club Zygotic’s bi-monthly showcase of aural oddities, held in the strange gloom of The Green Door Store in Brighton. The exposed brickwork and shadowed corners of this listed space are graced with all manner of outsounds, in free entry events that run from 2 – 10:30pm. Since 2010 it has been host to local, national and overseas artists and has enjoyed a few excursions into alternative venues in Hastings and Folkestone.
Splitting The Atom’s primary format sees two stages set up in the same room, for quickfire programming of performances. These are often graced with projections that combine esoteric visual discomfort with the tractor and cricket videos lurking in the archives of Train of Thought gallery’s Kev Hough.
Through these events we provide a stage for new acts in experimental music to perform, or new ideas to reach a public setting. Those interested in being part of an event are welcome to get in touch.
