Alvin Lucier: Retrospective

In November 2016 we presented a concert featuring a wide range of Alvin Lucier works performed live.

Lucier is best known for pieces such as ‘I Am Sitting In A Room’ that explore the nature and the effect of acoustic sounds and sound phenomena – resonances, echoes and interferences – with the boundaries between installation, performance, composition and science intentionally blurred. The concert offered a chance to experience works beyond the most commonly performed examples, and was led by acclaimed percussionist and Lucier enthusiast Adam Bushell.
