Lost Property Arts Collective
FORT PROCESS 2018
Thanks to everyone who contributed to the third edition of Fort Process – all of the amazing artists and performers delivered on every level and it was a pleasure to host them; our faultless technical crew and resilient stewards went above and beyond to keep things running along. Together we held together an event that has already had so much positive and rewarding feedback.
Thanks also to Newhaven Fort staff, especially our allies Kath and Chris – who have been so understanding to our strange and unconventional methods – our outside caterers, first aid and security team.
And a final resounding thank you to everyone who braved some genuinely challenging weather on the day, came along, and stuck it out. It was heartening to see you trudging defiantly up through the drizzle and into the Aeolian Park, and still exploring various live and installation spaces after dark when the cold and wet had surely become slightly tiresome. Fort Process thrives on that sustained intrigue and enthusiasm and that is what you bring every time.
After two further days of post-festival activity the takedown is pretty much complete and we can slow down and take stock. If anyone has any reports, photos, video or favourites they’d like to share please do feel free to post on the FB event page. For now we’ll leave you with the amazing shots taken by our incredible resident photographer Agata Urbaniak
Lost Property is an arts and events collective based in Brighton, UK, which primarily creates music, sound and art events that take place in unconventional and evocative spaces. Alongside Fort Process, the major festival held every two years, we organise film seasons, all-day experimental music events, and one-off special concerts celebrating sound art and music. We also provide opportunities to learn through workshops hosted by diverse artistic practitioners, commission installations and new work.
Lost Property are thrilled to announce the return of Fort Process, the one day sound art and music event we run that utilises the extraordinary resonant spaces of Newhaven Fort. This third edition of the festival will feature performances, installations, talks, workshops and live art, and is part of an extended season that runs from July to October with events at De La Warr Pavilion, Cafe Oto and Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts.
